Carp 18 Lyrics

Hauswärming Party
  by Joe Fahey

we had a hauswärming party it went on through the night
the cops weren't invited but they made it there all right
we listened to the beatles didn't know about the fall
we had a keg in the bathtub and strangers in the hall

i don't care what the neighbors think at all
if i had a phone they could always call
deal with tomorrow when my mind has got a frame
just a couple days to hang my head in shame

the attic was a temple for the chemically inclined
the basement was a refuge for lovers in a bind
people scratching records when it didn't suit their taste
the landlord's pal was jottign notes in a whirlwind of haste

i don't care what the neighbors think at all
if i had a phone they could always call
deal with tomorrow when my mind has got a frame
just a couple days to hang my head in shame

we had a hauswärming party it went on through the night
the cops weren't invited but they made it there all right
we listened to the beatles didn't know about the fall
we had a keg in the bathtub and strangers in the hall

i don't care what the neighbors think at all
if i had a phone they could always call
deal with tomorrow when my mind has got a frame
just a couple days to hang my head in shame
